This is a commemorative medal for the 100th anniversary of the Patriotic War of 1812. <br>Key Information<br>Commemoration: The medal was instituted by Tsar Nicholas II in 1912 to mark the centenary of the Russian campaign against Napoleon.<br>Obverse Design: The medal features a profile bust of Tsar Alexander I, who was the emperor during the 1812 war.<br>Reverse Design: The reverse side of the medal has a Cyrillic inscription that translates to "1812 This Glorious Year Went By, But The Heroic Deeds Then Performed Will Never Pass 1912".<br>Recipients: It was awarded to military personnel who participated in the official ceremonies in Moscow and at the Borodino fields, as well as civilians who helped with the preparations. <br>The medal is a state award of the Russian Empire and was made of bronze.
