Discovered at the Dunton Quarry in Newry in 1902, watermelon tourmaline crystals feature a red core surrounded by green. This crystal is a significant piece from the historic 1972 find by George Hartman, Dean McCrillis, Dale Sweatt and Frank Perham on Plumbago Mountain in Newry, Maine. A true piece of Maine gem history!
