Stunning antique Wedding Cake Bead Necklace with aventurine and pink roses on a black ground. All beads are handmade. The necklace closes with a barrel clasp, common in the 1920's.
Necklace is about 20" in length. Each large bead is about 1/2" wide.
Referred to as lampwork, each bead was individually made, using a gas-powered torch or a blowtorch. The ribbons of glass, the flowers, and the aventurine are hand applied, making each bead a bit different. Lampwork beads were often a cottage industry for Italian citizens, who would be paid by the piece.
