The pretty snuff bottle is made of a semi-precious stone noted for its apricot color. Apricot agate is a variegated from of Chalcedony, a fibrous form of Quartz. The bottle has a flattened rectangular form tapering towards the base which is concave. Its top is flat and the cap is a pink stone carved as a rose on a white disc. The flat surfaces of the bottle are decorated with a branch of plum blossoms and a bamboo with leaves. The carving is very subtle. The bottle is well hollowed, which is a good sign of age. The cap is a carving of a little rosette of unknown material on a white disc.<br><br>Dating: Chinese Republic Period, 1920's<br><br>Dimensions: 1.5 inches wide, 0.75 inches deep and 2.75 inches high<br><br>Condition: very good, please note this is a hand carved bottle and the opening is not exactly centered. It may have contained snuff at some point, but no flaws.
